Personally, I’m an avid iPhone user, but this announcement makes me want to get a Pixel 8!

Introducing Bard Assistant on specific devices

After the official announcement of Bard Assistant last week, the excitement around its rollout to specific devices is palpable. Initially, Bard Assistant will be available to Pixel 8 users. Plans then extend to Tensor-powered Pixel devices, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S24 models.

This information comes from the analysis of the latest version of the Google application available on the Play Store, also called “APK Insight”. By studying the app files, developers were able to spot lines of code that indicate potential upcoming features. Of course, not every feature spotted is guaranteed to launch, but it does provide some insight into possible directions from Google.

Planned Deployment Details

Based on analysis of Google app beta version 14.41, Bard Assistant will first be available on the Pixel 8 and Galaxy S24 early next year. Next, it is expected to roll out to older Tensor-based Pixel devices, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, before being made available to more users.

Google also announced in a blog post that Bard Assistant will be available on Android and iOS mobile devices in the coming months. This represents a significant step forward, allowing more users to benefit from this improved functionality.

Examples of assisted queries

Version 14.41 of the Google app includes sample queries that the user can ask of Bard Assistant. These queries range from explanations of natural phenomena to creative suggestions for various personal or professional scenarios.

Users will be able to ask for help explaining phenomena like rainbows in a fun way for kids, or get suggestions for comparing two sports, writing professional emails, or finding ideas for surprising a friend . This demonstrates the versatility and usefulness of Bard Assistant in everyday life, whether for informational queries or creative assistance.

The introduction of Bard Assistant on specific devices marks a step toward making artificial intelligence more accessible to the general public, which holds promise for the future of human-computer interaction.
